"Parents Education and Community" Program

Field of activity
The program allows for strengthening the parent community by raising awareness of educational and social issues, and strengthening the connection to Jewish identity through home learning.
Strengthening parental involvement in education will increase cooperation with the education system and the children's chances of success in the education system.
The group will be a source of support and encouragement among parents on a practical level, at the individual, school, and community levels. All of this will contribute to increasing student achievement and improving the quality of education in the neighborhoods.


Project description
From November to March, 16 study sessions are held once a week, each session lasting two hours at the "Dizengoff" Educational Center. Approximately 15 mothers from south Tel Aviv participate in the program. 8 sessions are held with a parent facilitator from the organization "H"L - for Education" on the topics of parental rights in the education system, learning disabilities, Ritalin - to give or not, special education, dilemmas in education, vocational education, Telan programs, and more. And 8 alternating sessions with a facilitator and coordinator from the community, discussing issues of parental responsibility, the education system, and the importance of parental involvement in order to increase the chances of children's success in the education system. Participants in the program acquire tools for educational work in the community and to increase educational involvement.
